Humidifier Device Is Best For Low Humidity Areas

Humidifier is a device that is used to increase moisture in the entire building. Medical ventilators are normally fitted with humidifiers. There are different types of humidifiers which are purposely for different uses.

Furnace humidifiers are used to humidify the whole building while large ones are used for industrial or institutional purposes. Humidifiers are used to control problems associated with low humidity. These conditions are mostly experienced in hot and dry desert climates. In industries, humidifiers are used to prevent static electricity build up as machines work.

There are two categories of humidifiers, one is portable type and the other is forced air humidifiers. Each of this has different categories of humidifier device types. Portable ones are best for home and general home humidification while forced air ones are recommended for office and industrial use.

History of the emergence of humidification and humidifier devices

In early 1950s, United States office of saline water was supporting the development of multi effective solar stills. It was later found that separating individual home humidity and heat processes could be more advantageous. This now paved a way of developing a humidifier for humidification process. This was a milestone since it helps to reduce health problems related to low humidity. People were now able to live in low humidity places and use portable humidifiers as alternative.

In 1964, university of Arizona with the help of university of Sonora in Mexico started to manufacture large forced air humidifiers. The plant manufactured humidifiers that used solar energy. It was tasted in the year 1965 and found to be working. This test was the acted as a base that allowed for more modification and improvements on the device. In addition, the methods applied for designing and dimensioning the device were improved. All this was with the aim of making the device more useful in homes and require less maintenance.

How humidifier works

Evaporative humidifier has a wick that is made of very porous material. This material absorbs the air and provides a large surface area for water to evaporate from. There is a fan which is adjustment to the wick.

This fan aids to increase the rate of evaporation therefore increasing humidity in the room.

Vaporizer or steam humidifier uses electricity to boil water. Boiled water will release steam and moisture in to the air this will increase the level of humidity in the room. Medicated inhalant is recommended to be added to reduce the coughing. This is the best home humidifier since it is less likely to convey impurities in the water.

Ultrasonic humidifiers use a ceramic diaphragm which is vibrating. As it vibrates, it creates water droplets to leave the humidifier in form of cool mist. The mist is forced out of the device by a fan. This will release the mist to the air around the room and increase the humid conditions of the room.

In industries, humidifiers are used when specific amount of humidity need to be maintained. This is with the aim of preventing static electricity from building up. it also ensure that employees are in comfortable and healthy environment. Materials properties are also maintained in a well maintained humidity conditions.

Health benefits of using humidifiers.

1)     Humidifier adds moisture to your home. This increases moisture in the air that prevents dryness of the skin.

2)     Use of Humidifier plays an effective role in treating problems like dry skin conditions and reduces throat dryness.

3)     Common colds and flu are out of a home using humidifier device.

Use of humidifier has enabled people living in low humidity areas to move on with live. These devices are much important and helpful in the whole world. For this reason many industries have manufactured more humidifiers that use the current technology. This has made it easy and more portable for those normally using the devices.

Health problems and risks associated with use of humidifiers.

Over use of humidifier devices increases humidity levels to excess. These conditions encourage growth of molds. It also causes lung problems as it tries to maintain the high humidity in the air inhaled. A relative humidity of about fifty percent is recommended for homes. In industries, hygrostat is used to control humidity conditions automatically. This is with the aim of reducing the effects of too much humidity in the components of the industry.
